About Me
Hi, I'm Makalia Brown — an LPGA Golf Professional with over 20 years in the game and more than 5 years of teaching experience. I'm based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, where I run Makalia Brown Golf Instruction, LLC, offering private lessons and women's golf clinics at Golf Ranch locations in Richardson and Grand Prairie.
My love for golf started simply — as a fun way to learn a new sport and spend time with my dad. What began as quality time on the course grew into a lifelong passion that took me all the way to Jackson State University, where I competed as a Division I collegiate golfer, earned All-SWAC honors, and served as team captain.
I'm especially passionate about helping women discover and fall in love with golf. Whether you've never touched a club or you're looking to take your game to the next level, my coaching style meets you exactly where you are.
Golf started as something special between me and my dad. I'd love to help it become something special for you too.

I have had 3 lessons with Makalia and I am striking the golf ball better than before. I am hitting it right down the middle and adding anywhere from 10 to 30 yards on my shots. Makalia takes what you already have and shapes into a well oiled machine.

I just had my first of five private lessons with Makalia, and I can't believe how much I learned in just one hour! Everything I thought I knew from "YouTube University" quickly went out the window because I realized it wasn't necessarily right for me. Makalia has a magical way of breaking down the basics and making things that once felt complicated actually click. As a complete newbie, that's a great feeling! She's also so genuine, patient, and supportive—which is exactly what beginners like me need, especially when we can be a little too hard on ourselves. This was only lesson one, and I already know I made the right choice. I can't wait for the next one!

I'm currently taking (and loving) my third round of lessons with Coach Makalia. She's patient (a plus with my lack of skill!) and makes the experience fun. Prior to meeting Coach Makalia, I'd only ever hit balls (with a serious lack of form) at driving ranges. I've since played nine holes and have a reservation booked to do the same in Ireland next month!
